All of our teachers have a passion for yoga that shows up on and off the mat. Each has studied intensively and strives to bring their love for this practice to their students.

Each certified teacher has completed at least one 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program certified by Yoga Alliance. This insures that they are trained in asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, hands-on assisting, anatomy, physiology, contraindications, philosphy, and ethics.

Our apprentice teachers have completed their initial training and are working toward full certifcation.

SPY teachers are committed to continuing education and required to attend at least one teacher training workshop per year.

Stephanie Mobley

RYT-200 Certified Teacher

Stephanie started practicing yoga one month after undergoing lower back surgery. A lifelong runner, she was worried that the pounding would re-injure her lower back. She had also heard stories that yoga was calming and that sounded pretty nice to a working mother with two small children. Stephanie's passion for the practice gets her up at 5:00 am to practice before she starts her busy day. Stephanie's teaching has steeped into her personal experience on the mat and her passion for serving others.

Sue Finkle

RYT-200 Certified Teacher

Yoga was an instrumental tool that helped Sue decide to leave a 10 year career in Marine Biology and walk into the unknown.  She became a yoga instructor within a year of opening this new chapter.  For Sue, yoga allowed her to be more in touch with her heart.  From there on, she was able to make decisions by listening to her heart and not based on fear, an incredibly powerful and liberating awakening.  A few years later, Sue found the Baptiste Power Flow practice.  And, shall we say, the rest is history!

Christy Soukhamneut

RYT-200 Certified Teacher

Christy started her yoga journey after placing the winning bid on a yoga mat and one month of unlimited yoga at a charity auction in 2009.  No one was more surprised than she when she actually redeemed the certificate and began her practice.  It only took a few classes, and a little encouragement from some amazing teachers, before she was hooked. Yoga brought balance and grounding to Christy's otherwise  type A, over-achiever perfectionist lifestyle where everything was a competition and the mantra was "you can sleep when you are dead".  Through Baptiste Power Yoga Christy found the perfect blend of power, strength and grace that keeps her coming to her mat day after day.

Constance Gabrielli

RYT- 200 Certified Teacher

Con took her first yoga class in 2004 at her gym to see what all the fuss was about. It looked like it might be a change from her usual workout. As a lifelong skeptic she wasn't expecting to like it. She came out of that first class totally relaxed and she was hooked.

Con found a yoga studio and started regular classes. By 2008 she signed up for 200 hour teacher training. She was by far the oldest student. In 2009 she started teaching Baby Boomers and Seniors showing them ways to increase flexibility and improve balance. Her mission to keep the aging population strong and healthy.

She completed a 28 day meditation with Sally Kempton the summer of 2012 and took private meditation and nidra classes in India.

Erin Lambright

RYT- 200 Certified Teacher

Erin took her first power yoga class three and a half years ago when a friend suggested it might be good way to regain strength following her first cesarean section. After just a few classes she knew it was going to give her a lot more than abs of steel. Baptiste Power Vinyasa helped her get her creative juices flowing and held her attention in a way no other form of exercise had since she was a child. She was having great fun while getting really sweaty but there was something else, something that kept her coming back to her mat again and again. She was hooked and began getting serious about her practice.Through her practice she has learned to be more calm, patient and present with her two growing boys as well as gaining strength and flexibility. When she read about the 200 hour teaching training coming up at SPY in the spring of 2013, she felt compelled to complete the class and begin sharing this powerful practice with others.

Biza Mabry

RYT- 200 Certified Teacher

Biza took her 1st yoga class 6 years ago and thought it was slow and boring. She decided yoga was not her thing. Biza is a cardio junky. She has been teaching aerobics for 5 years, TRX for 3 years and a personal trainer for 3 years, Biza is also an avid runner. She loves to sweat and get her heart pumping. When SPY opened friends told her that she would love it. After arguing that she would not she decided to give it a try. Well, the rest is history. Biza was hooked. Not only was she sweating and getting her heart pumping she discovered that there was much more. It opened her heart.  She has learned to control situations that she could not control before just by breathing and not reacting. Stepping back and finding joy in things that are not always joyful.

Kim Norvell

Kim was introduced to yoga for the first time in February 2011 by a roller derby teammate.  After years of wanting to try yoga, she agreed to attend a class.   It was exactly what she needed to balance out her Type A personality and passion for a female aggressive sport.  She quickly discovered that a regular Baptiste Power Yoga practice not only suited her physically, but transformed her mental state as well, allowing her to find a more peaceful and loving way of life.

Curtis Tucker

Apprentice Teacher
RYT- 200 Certified

After a career in the military, Curtis was burned out on the competitive nature of maintaining his physical fitness. He was tired of stopwatches, counting reps, miles of road work, and people shouting at him. Curtis was also overweight and recovering from arthroscopic surgery on both knees. He needed to try something different. So, in the fall of 2007, Curtis took a leap of faith and started going to Kate's six-week beginner's yoga series of classes.

Over the next three years Curtis' commitment to yoga ebbed and flowed as he "dated" several different studios and styles of yoga but, he found a soulmate at SPY in Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga. Since committing to this practice his desire to learn, and share what he has learned, is on fire. Curtis has found inspiration and a new way living that is healthful and noncompetitive, and now he wants to help others discover it too.
